Badminton Victoria and Protech Partnership 2022-2024

Media Release   |   19 November 2021   |   Download PDF

Badminton Victoria (BV) is excited and proud to announce a new three-year partnership with Absolute Protech Sports and Protech Sports Australia starting on 1 January 2022. The partnership agreement is built around the Elite Series Open events and will be renamed the “Protech Elite Series” but will also feature benefits extended to all our member clubs, associations, venues, and academies who will have the opportunity to purchase shuttles at discounted prices.

The three-year agreement is the biggest sponsorship / partnership agreement ever to be signed by BV. Executive General Manager of BV, Tjitte (TJ) Weistra said, “I am beyond excited and grateful for the opportunity to work closely with Protech over the next three years for the benefit of our members and participants. This agreement will allow us not only to keep delivering our flagship events but also to increase the value of being a member of BV.”

Protech Sports Australia Managing Director Andrew Dan said, “I am absolutely thrilled that Protech Sports will be part of the Elite Series in Victoria from next year. Our vision has always been to help grow the sport, to support grassroot players and clubs, especially the juniors. Who knows, they might one day become the next star player representing Victoria.”

This new partnership signals the end of a long-standing partnership with Gray-Nicolls Sports (Yonex Australia) who has been very supportive of BV over many years. BV would like to sincerely thank the team at Yonex Australia for their contribution to badminton in Victoria over many years.
