Shuttle Time

Program Overview

Shuttle Time introduces players to badminton's fundamental movement and lifelong skills through various fun, safe and socially inclusive activities and games. The Shuttle Time program combines a range of fun physical activities with learning the technical and tactical elements of the game. This includes the development of hand-eye coordination, catching and throwing, stability and balance, speed and agility, as well as jumping and landing skills.

A Shuttle Time Coaching Course is the first step for Badminton coach accreditation. This workshop will cover Shuttle Time’s all-around physical, technical and tactical skills through hand-eye coordination, balance, speed, agility, jumping, competition and winning. At the workshop, you will receive current activities and opportunities to deliver shuttle time programs in schools under a government initiative called Sporting Schools, in addition to community centres or private arrangements.

**Two free registrations per club per annum are available. Please check with your committee to ensure they approve of utilising the space.

Additionally, attendees will be charged a $50 Badminton Australia Accreditation Fee.

What is involved?

1. Completion of the following online modules pre-course (only complete these if accepted into the course):
   • Complete the Sport Australia Community Coaching - Essential Skills module

   • Complete the Sport Australia Play by the Rules - Child Protection module
     (https://elearning.sportintegrity.gov.au/login/index.php)
   • Complete the Sport Australia Play by the Rules - Harassment and Discrimination module https://elearning.sportintegrity.gov.au/login/index.php
   • Complete the Shuttletime online module, via the following link: https://shuttletime.bwfbadminton.com/online-component
     • Register/Login via the Tab on the right of the screen.
     • When registering for the first time, you will be sent a confirmation email approving your username and password – please click on the link above again to log in.
2. Attend practical course session (as per time and location indicated on this page)
3. Provide valid Working With Children Check when registering your qualification with Badminton Australia AFTER successfully completing this course.

Please note that a Badminton Australia (BA) registration and accreditation fee of $50 is charged by BA directly when you register via https://badmintonaustralia.thinkific.com/courses/coach-registration

Attendees will receive training in Shuttle Time topics, be assessed for their competency, and, if successful, will be certified as a Shuttle Time Teacher/Coach.
