Badminton Victoria is deeply saddened to announce the recent passing of Lois Smith, a beloved member of the badminton community.
Lois' impressive career in badminton includes winning the Victorian Open Women's Singles in 1963, a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
She was also a proud member of the Victorian State Team, competing in the 31st Australian Badminton Carnival (a national event) in 1966, and the 1963 Victorian State team.
These achievements highlight her significant contributions to badminton at both the state and national levels. Lois was proud of her achievements and involvement with BV, and justifiably so. Her dedication, success, and positive influence will be remembered and celebrated.
Our deepest sympathies are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
