A Day in the Life 

Balancing a full-time job as a mechanical engineer, Kenneth manages to train hard with a demanding routine. His day starts at 5:15 AM for 6:15 AM training sessions at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). This rigorous schedule includes three hours of practice before work, highlighting the balancing act many athletes perform to pursue their dreams while managing everyday responsibilities. 

Sharpening His Game 

On the court, Kenneth is focused on perfecting his game. He prioritizes shot quality and decision-making, knowing these are crucial for excelling in badminton. He draws inspiration from Lin Dan, admiring his speed, strength, tactical skills, anticipation, and ability to stay calm under pressure. 

Reflecting on the Journey to the Paris Olympics 

Kenneth’s journey to the Paris Olympics was challenging. Competing against the world’s best players provided invaluable experience and a deep appreciation for the high level of international badminton. "The journey to the Paris Olympics was tough," Kenneth reflects. "The international level of badminton is incredibly high. It requires immense determination, motivation, and perseverance." 

Financial challenges added to the difficulty of maintaining his lifestyle as an Australian badminton player. Although he didn’t make it to the Olympics, Kenneth chose to focus on his career. "Moving forward means giving up my dreams and dedicating myself to work," he admits, shedding light on the tough realities faced by many athletes.
