A Milestone for Vic Country!

Published Thu 19 Sep 2024

The 2024 Beyond Bank Junior Classics marks an exciting milestone as Vic Country is proudly represented for the first time on the national stage. This achievement highlights not only the growth of badminton in regional Victoria but also the unwavering support from Beyond Bank, whose dedication to empowering local communities has made this possible. Shout out to Cameron Murnane from Beyond Bank for coming out to Geelong to show support for these superstars.

“Watching the excitement, growth, and journey of the Beyond Bank Junior Classics has been incredibly inspiring,” said Clint Proctor, CEO of Badminton Victoria. “With the support of Beyond Bank, we’ve been able to provide our regional clubs and communities the opportunity to compete and grow through the Beyond Bank Junior Classics, proudly representing Vic Country for the first time ever.”

This momentous occasion would not have been possible without the efforts of Relationship Manager Marlaina McPhillips, who played a crucial role in bringing this innovative initiative to life.

And of course, a pat on the back for Naman Bhardwaj, representative from Geelong Badminton Academy. His dedication to coaching and ensuring the visibility of country players means that achievements like this are possible.

The following four players have the privilege of representing Australian states and territories, and we are incredibly proud of these young superstars!
