The Shepparton Junior Classic is an event specifically aimed at young players in regional Victoria. This event is not open to players who are part of the Badminton Victoria state squad or representative teams or have been in the past.

There are three age groups and disciplines offered:

• Primary School (for years 5 + 6)*
• Secondary School Junior (for years 7 + 8)
• Secondary School Senior (for years 9 and above)

For all age groups, the following disciplines will be offered:

• Singles and Doubles

*For Primary School singles & doubles, there is no gender distinction.

Entry fee:

$20 flat fee per entry, no matter how many different disciplines you enter. A full refund will be given for any withdrawals done before the closing date.

Medals:

Medals will be awarded to winners and runners-up.

Closing date for entries:

Monday 8 May. BV retains the right to close entries early due to reaching maximum capacity.

Age qualification:

Players must play in the age group / school year that matches with the discipline or play in a higher age group / school year. Players may not play in a lower age group / school year.

Tournament Structure:

• Singles and Doubles (no gender distinction in Primary School for either singles or doubles)
• Tournament format will be determined by the number of entries.
• There will be an initial grading round, and players will progress according to their grading. The format will ensure that players have multiple games in each discipline they enter.
• Badminton Victoria reserves the right to merge, cancel or otherwise amend any discipline if required.

Scoring System:

Rally Point scoring system will be used. The length of each game/match will be depending on the size of the draws and scheduling requirements and may be amended on the day subject to available time.

BV Membership:

Players DO NOT have to be members of a Badminton Victoria affiliated club.

Conditions of Entry:

All players submitting entries for this tournament will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted the conditions under which the tournament events are to be conducted. Competitors play at their own risk. This is a non-sanctioned event. No player IDs are required.
