The Badminton Victoria All Schools Championships are a fun and friendly team competition for primary and secondary schools.
Regretfully, Badminton Victoria has had to cancel the event for 2021. Please keep an eye out for an email next year to let you know when we open entries for the 2022 event.

All events start at 8.30 and finish at approximately 4pm. All events are held in the badminton hall at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, Aughtie Drive 3206
Divisions
Open Division is an elite competition for schools who are generally winners or runners-up in their respective school association competition, have club, state or national level player(s) in their team or are looking for a significantly higher level of competition.
Second Division is for schools wishing to experience a greater level of competition outside their respective school associations or may not have competitive badminton being played in their school association.
Competition Format
The competition is made up of a preliminary round robin team matches and then a finals round, in either round robin or play-off format (dependent on numbers). All players are ranked to ensure that ties are as even as possible.
Primary Schools – 6 doubles games per match, any age or gender. Games played according to the player rankings and order of play
Secondary Schools – 3 singles and 2 doubles games per match, any age. Games played according to the player rankings and order of play.

As our All Schools Championships are very popular, there will be two rounds of entries for the Secondary Schools championships. In the initial round, schools can enter a maximum of three teams in each division in each event.
For the Primary Schools championships, you can enter as many teams as you wish. We will review team entry numbers at the close of entries and balance out the entries if needed.

A second round of entries will be opened if there are still places left. The maximum number of entries in the second round will be advised later.
When making your entry, you need to advise the school name, and team names. You do not need to advise the player names (though you can do at the time of entry if you wish). Player names can be entered at the time of team entry, or at any time up to the player name deadline. You can also make changes to your player names at anytime up to the player name deadline. Team Composition
Teams are made up of 4 to 6 players.
For Primary Schools players must be current students from Prep to Year 6, and there are no gender divisions.
For Secondary Schools players must be current students from Year 7 to Year 12 and the following gender guidelines apply
- Participants who identify as female will be allowed to participate as females.
- Participants who identify as male will be allowed to participate as males.
- Participants who identify as non-binary will be allowed to participate in the gender category that they feel most comfortable and supported in.

Player Rankings
You will be emailed a form to complete before the event. On this you will list all your players and their rankings. A full explanation of how the ranking system will be supplied at the same time.
Payment
Invoices will be sent out at the close of Second Round entries, and payment must be made before the day of competition.

- Enter your player names at any time on Tournament Software
- Complete the player ranking form when you receive it
- Pay the invoice before the day of competition
- Arrive by 8am on the day of competition
